ABOUT imageABOUT imageABOUT image
ARTOFALABI STUDIO
Is a community-centered creative arts studio dedicated to inspiring creativity, cultural connection, and emotional wellness. We offer inclusive programs including school-based art classes, community workshops, therapeutic sessions, murals, and artist residencies.

Alongside our programs, we produce original paintings, installations, wearable art, woodwork, and custom-designed pieces, using art as a tool for self-expression, storytelling, and community engagement for youth, families, and adults.

Together, his studio work and community practice form a unified approach, where art is not only created, but shared as a tool for expression, cultural connection, and collective experience.

PRACTICE STATEMENT
My work exists both in the studio and in the community. I explore identity, culture, and memory through visual storytelling while creating spaces where others can express, reflect, and connect through art.

MISSION
To inspire creativity, promote emotional wellness, and strengthen communities through culturally rooted and inclusive art experiences.

Oladimeji Alabi is an artist from Lagos, Nigeria, now based in Brooklyn, whose multidisciplinary practice fuses Yoruba heritage and African identity with bold global narratives. Working across painting, murals, installation, wearable art, and mixed media, he creates powerful visual stories that explore identity, culture, emotional healing, and human connection.

As the founder of Artofalabi Studio and a Teaching Artist in New York City, Oladimeji uses art as a transformative tool for community engagement and social impact, creating spaces where creativity fosters dialogue, reflection, and collective healing.

He received his Fine Art education from Yaba College of Technology. Following his studies, he worked as a studio assistant with renowned Nigerian artists Nike Okundaye, Ayoola Gbolahan, and Victor Ehikhamenor. During this period, he contributed to several major projects, including mural installations at the Meta office in Dubai and artworks exhibited at the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.

His work has been featured in both solo and group exhibitions spanning over a decade and a half, across Nigeria and internationally.
